In a letter to his teacher Reinhold Glière dated March 26, 1939, Borys Liatoshynsky wrote: “...we are already living in a new apartment. <...> My cabinet is now completely quiet.” Perhaps, in order to understand a person, one must comprehend the space in which a significant part of their life took place. Lyatoshynsky's small cabinet, most of which was occupied by a grand piano and a massive desk, was remembered by all his contemporaries—those who came to the composer's home on business or as friends. Rediscovery cannot take place without being in that space, which still preserves the memory of its owner. The event will include a tour of Borys Liatoshynsky's Kyiv routes: the old conservatory, the post-war conservatory, the house where the composer lived from 1914, and, of course, his cabinet in the ROLIT building.
The tour will be guided by Vladyslava Osmak and Iryna Tukova.
