Kateryna Gornostay was born in Lutsk in 1989. Studied as a biologist, then a journalist at the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy. In 2013, she graduated from the school of documentary cinema and theater of Maryna Razbezhkina and Mikhail Ugarov. After studying, she returned home to Kyiv. She started working in cinema as a documentary film director. Subsequently, she turned her attention to feature films and hybrid forms. "Stop-Earth" - the director's full-length feature debut, won the "Crystal Bear" from the youth jury at the Berlinale film festival. He is also engaged in educational projects - he teaches documentary film directing for students of the Kyiv-Mohyla Academy and the University named after Karpenko-Karyo. Lives and works in Kyiv.
