L – Nastya G – Nick B – Yara T – Seb The abbreviation LGBT has become ingrained in the Ukrainian vocabulary to the extent that allows its use by the people who do not know anything about lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders to denote everything incomprehensible or “deviant,” putting their own meanings into these words. In this series of films, we not only show openly LGBT soldiers, but also narrate a story for each letter of this abbreviation: an open lesbian, an open gay, an open bisexual, and an open transgender whose fate has intertwined with war and combined with the fate and pain of the entire country. Thus, we not only humanize the mythical “LGBT,” but also put a mirror in front of our fellow citizens and say that we are part of the people and not some “deviation.” Look at our faces, listen to our stories, feel our pain, since we are one nation. These faces are not alienated from the people; they take an active part in the creation of the modern history of the country, defending the civilian population and aiding the frontlines. These people, although deprived of equal rights, continue the cause of the Revolution of Dignity, participating in the defense of the country.
