Description
The main masterpiece of Ukrainian cinema (restored version). Two Hutsul families have been at war for many years. In an atmosphere of bitterness and revenge, the pure, bright love of Ivan and Marichka, who belong to the warring families, is born. Ivan is forced to go to work, while Marichka dies in the river abyss. Ivan tries to forget his beloved, but he cannot. Marriage to the beautiful Palagna does not help either. Only in a dying delirium does Ivan find his happiness.
