Dean Temple is a Ukrainian American writer, director, and actor based in New York, a documentary filmmaker and producer for the Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum, and a co-founder of Drake Creative, a production company that uses documentary storytelling techniques to create mission-based content for nonprofit organizations. His new play “Apocollapse!“ – a satire about the war on Ukraine – was featured this past month as part of the Ukrainian Cultural Festival in New York City with a cast from Broadway’s Stereophonic and HBO’s Mare of Easttown.
Whenever I struggle to tell a story in film or on stage, whether it’s my own work or for a client, returning to intention helps me find what the story needs in that moment. In this workshop we’ll look at what that means when writing a script or screenplay, breaking down scenes as an actor, and working with actors or conducting interviews as a director.
